What is LumiaDB?

Lumia Database - pretty much a "Quick & easy way to download firmwares for your Lumia device". The main goal is to build a community-driven archive of Lumia FFUs—ensuring they remain accessible to users and Lumia lovers around the world.

The FFU takes years to download!!!!!!!!

We rely on the Internet Archive for downloads. Using an US VPN would help. Cloudflare WARP is a free good one.

You're just abusing IA servers for download (yes someone did blame me for this)

At the moment, I don’t have the financial ability to pay for servers. I built this project to help people and keep it accessible by relying on resources like the Internet Archive, which I also support with donations whenever possible, since LumiaDB uses quite a lot of their bandwidth and storage space. I’ll continue running it this way while also supporting the Internet Archive from time to time — it’s the least I can do.

Past donations: Aug 2025

Why can't I find X file?

If you can’t find a specific firmware, you can contact us, and we’ll try to add it if available.

What is Contribute (OSL)?

Operation Save Lumia (OSL), formerly Operation Save FFU (OSFFU), was a community-driven effort started by Tim (timthewarrior_) in the Windows 8 Group Discord server to archive Lumia FFUs. It has brought people together to collect and share FFUs for archiving purposes, making them easier to access.

Previously an internal operation and unofficial part of LumiaDB, OSL is now being merged into the main site to become an official, public-facing feature. This transition will allow anyone to contribute directly through https://osl.lumiadb.com, making the archive effort more accessible and open to the community.

How does Contribute (OSL) work?

Initially, we considered a simple approach—using a shared Google Drive folder where people could upload FFUs. However, this came with major drawbacks: it consumed space from contributors’ personal accounts, and there was no control over the uploads. Anyone with access could delete files, which was a huge risk.

To address these issues, we developed our own solution: OSL Uploader. This tool uploads your files directly into a secure external database accessible only by LumiaDB. Once uploaded, the files cannot be accessed, shared, or deleted by anyone except the LumiaDB team—so please don’t treat it as personal storage.

If you accidentally upload something confidential, rest assured it's not public. You can request a removal, or we’ll manually delete anything that isn’t a valid FFU during our review process. Once verified, legitimate FFU files will be organized and made available for download as part of the public archive.

The emergency file for the Lumia 640/640 XL doesn't match the RM code!!!

Lumia 640s (both non-XL and XL) have broken emergency files and using those "original" files could lead to a bricked Lumia. I've replaced those files with known good working ones from another Lumia 640 (non-XL/XL) variant (source) so your Lumia won't show up with a "QHSUSB_BULK" and become a toilet paper roll. Also, non-LTE variants (3G) do not have any known working emergency files for them, so I haven't included them just to be safe.

How do I flash these firmwares?

There are many ways to do this, but I personally would use WPInternals. You could look up tutorials on how to use thor2 if WPI doesn't work.

Why isn't this page in dark mode like the main page?

I have absolutely no idea, it's broken for some reason. Enjoy the flashbang.

Update September 15 2025: FIXED!!!!! (well at least it Works on my machine™)
